Mederma will not help clear an acne outbreak. The oinment is somewhat occlusive and might actually make the acne worse. There are lots better answers for acne. The problem is a two fold situation. Most commonly there is a growth of bacteria (propionbacterium acnes or similar) Also, because of hormonal shifts there is a marked tendency toward oily skin, leading to occlusion of pores which increases the tendency toward pustule formation.

Good skin care with cleansing products (of which there are many), is a must. Treatment after that depends on whether you want to seek professional help or try the over the counter approach.

Best of luckMederma scar cream for acne?
Mederma scar cream is FOR scars, not acne.

However, if what your talking about are acne SCARS, then yes it can help you, all mederma does is resurface your skin and speed up collagen production. However it won't do anything for active acne, such as blemishes/pimples that are inflamed, pus-filled, and or any new breakouts, for this try a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
